Bears Avenge Early Season Loss

The Moore Bears avenged their early season loss to the Jaguars Saturday, dominating the Jags 22-6. The Jags held the Bears and forced them to punt for the first time ever, only to have the ball taken away from them on the return. The Bears capitalized on the mistake and drove 50 yards to score the games first points. The two point conversion by Colton Lindsey made the score 8-0. The Jags got the ball and were able to gain some yardage, but the defense, that has been impressive all year, once again rose to the challenge and kept the Jags out of the end zone. The Bears offense picked up where it ended it's last drive and marched down field to score again in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead. With 2 defenders in pursuit, Derek Rogers dove for the end zone, just inside the pylon to make the score 16-0 at the half. The Jags opened the 2nd half with a very impressive scoring drive that used up most of the 3rd quarter. The defense stopped the Jags on the 2 point conversion making the score 16-6 with only seconds left in the 3rd quarter. Jentrey Scammahorn took the ensuing kickoff 70 yards for another Bears touchdown. After the Bears held again on Defense the offense ran the remainder of the clock out for a 22-6 victory. The victory put the Bears alone in first place.

This week's big stick went to Stephen Kish.

In the second game of the day, the Bears faced the Titans. On the first play from scrimmage, Jentrey Scammahorn busted through the defense for a 65 yard touchdown. The bears never looked back. Jentrey added another touchdown. Ty watkins scored on the longest play from scrimmage this season, 90+ yard scamper right up the middle. Tanner Brannon closed out the 1st half scoring on a nice run around the end and the Bears were up 26-0 at the half. The scoring continued in the 2nd half, led by Big Harry Ramirez doing his best Refrigerator impersonation and scoring on the Jumbo blast. The defense was impressive again, shutting out the Titans. It was the bears 6th shutout in 8 games. The final score Bears 40, Titans 0. Bears are now 8-1, with games against the 0-8 Revas Cowboys and the 5-3 Wenthold Sooners.
